| Аннотация |
Представлен исторический анализ условий возрождения Олимпийских игр в странах Западной, Центральной Европы и Северной Америки в период с XV по XIX столетия. Рассмотрены предпосылки - гуманизация общества, развитие образования, науки, культуры и искусства, формирование основ физической культуры и основных национальных систем физического воспитания, развитие соревновательного спорта в разных организационных формах и масштабах - которые способствовали созданию среды для инициирования олимпийского возрождения. Показана роль персоналий в возрождении олимпийского движения в течение пяти веков исторического развития общества.
